Our Mission

Student Affairs Group strives for a world where student governments are capable, impactful democratic institutions led by students, for students. In this world, they are accessible and empowering to the entire student body, not just a select few. We advocate for student unions to have the authority, funding, and infrastructure necessary to meaningfully improve students’ lives, while championing strong safeguards against corruption, apathy, and mismanagement. In doing so, we aim to make student government a model for the healthy, participatory civic culture we want to see in our broader society.

Our Values

Student governments should be run by students, for students

Students are the main decision-makers and that student government staff, education institutions, and other non-student stakeholders are not unduly infringing upon student democracy.

Student government should provide ways for all students to get involved, not just a small group of executives.

Student governments should have sufficient funding and infrastructure to make a difference in students’ lives.
